Culture .. Japan

This is called "Kintsugi" (golden joinery) , how wonderful . Simply love this old traditions . Reminded me of a story i had read.

A water bearer had an old donkey on his back he is to carry a earthern pitcher of water, everyday the water used to be less as the donkey was lame on his right side and the water used to fall out . The water bearer never complained , but the donkey was sad . So one day while returning he told his owner , "why do you bear with me , all your efforts are wasted as i spill lot of water on the way " .

The water bearer smiled and told him " No , just because you are lame and water falls i always carry seeds with me and sow in the field we walk through " , "Look on your right and see the beautiful flowers and fruit bearing shrubs that have sprouted" .  The water bearer said that it is not always that if there is a slight fault there is no life .

Is this not a pretty good feel , soul balm story.

Have a wonderful evening folks !!!

Cord or Umbilical Cord .. !!!

It’s  an age-old theme of making notes to remember , our grandmothers use to tie Knots to their sari palav, I had my own Granny doing it , later I saw my mother writing on Calendar’s, those times we always had a one month plain date calendar  which had good space to mark and write too . The calendar literally would be full of ‘Pay the Dhobi’, Calling Pammi Masi for the recipe, Children’s fees and so on
When we grew up we went into the world of ‘Archie’ and ‘Satyam’ shops that had these cute. handy note books , I remember jotting down some lines I liked , the  recipe a friend told , so basic those born in the 70-80’s will remember this. We still a generation who worked with a pen and paper.
Now is the era of technology , and we have the Y generation , they have their smartphones , iPhones other gadgets ,which have these easy accessible icons where at a touch of the icon you can store a lot and you have the information on the GO .
But is that progressive, did out Grannies and Mother’s forget?  Did they find it cumbersome to write? Here we are not saying technology is bad it is a boon, but what I think is it has taken the human touch out of it, we say HBD on social media where earlier we used visit each other. Technology has brought us near with the cord, but we have been cut away from the umbilical cord. Think.

Now that we have embraced technology, let me help you to give yourself some positive vibes, plus reminders to yourself, we rarely have the time to stop, think, dream, right. Use your password as a reminder, simple if there is something that needs to be done, just make that as your password.  Like ‘GOFORAWALK@SOON’, ‘YOUNEEDTOLOOSE@WEIGHT’, TAKEABREAK@INAWHILE.
It works believe me; remember the amount of times you need to type the password. It can be reminder ones too like ‘2Months28Oct@puctobedone’. ‘Appointment20Sep@Dentist’, try it.

Being Happy

There are days and then there are days you count as significant , we stay in  complex of few builings which are individually a society in itself , we have completed 13 years , each building in this course of time had their building get together . But not us , plans made , failed , finally this year i instigated and pushed and we met to get the paln in action . Of all the odd jobs i with flourish said i will Anchor the complete program ( ME ..wow ) .

Why am i saying that i need to let you readers into a secret , i am a very shy person at heart , but the outside world does not see it . Do i have two personas , no i don't think so , the outside world made me confident. But still giving a speech or even a corporate presentation got me chills to the bone.

What made me agree to do the anchoring am still not sure . But i did it , and i was so natural that people complimented me , when i said it was the first time .

Feeling so good about this ..!!!
