Mascot

On my way to office i need to pass the Asian Paints premise , and i happened to notice their mascot  on a small gate .

How cute can he be , they have stopped using this mascot i think in the 80's . But this Cute boy done by R.K Laxman evoked a long forgotten book , The Adventures of Tom Sawyer , the cutiest and the naughtiest boy, he lives with his grandmother , and in one of the chapter his granny tells him to paint the wall of the gate for bunking school  , now Tom just does not want to do it , but escaping from the wrath of his  granny he goes out and stands near the gate wall after just swiping one stroke of his brush,  he stands looking at the wall and just then his friend walks in , and asks ' You are punished to do this wall ' and laughs with glee , Tom promptly turns a deaf ear and continues with small stroke here and there as though painting the wall is the best job to do , after many quips from his friend he finally looks at him and says ' Hey am just enjoying this colors and swish of the brush and the quiet  .' and promptly goes back to the wall .His friend now is intrigued and ask for one swish with the brush.Tom ignores him and shows complete dedication of working again , after much persuasion from his friend and a quarter and a bar of chocolate he hands the brush with relutance . The friend happily takes the brush and starts painting . Tom swingings on the near gate munching and enjoying the chocolate bar.

WoW moment ....

Yesterday on a Sunday was watching this reality dance show and saw a deaf and dumb performing , i was gobbed , a boy of 9 who has never heard anything was dancing to a rhythm perfectly , and also had a continous smile on his face .

And there are numerous humans me included , crib for not getting certain things in life , O for the cribbing , when i saw this boy smiling and dancing away i suddenly thought Life is beautiful you just need to be grateful about it. We should always say a Wow for everything , Wow i jumped out of bed , wow i got food on my plate , wow am listening to such melodius chirping of the birds ,Wow i can converse with anyone and everyone , i can share my views . There are numerous WOW moments
we just need to feel it .

Now i have decided i will be gratiful about everything that comes my way . Will try and not feel cheated if i do not get that lovely watch i coveted , i will think about the numerous other things which is part of me , the smiles of my lovely nephews , the welcome from my office security.

Anticipation before Travels

Since i was a child , whenever there was travel decided in the family i used to visualize how the place would be for a new place decided . Most of my childhood travels were either to Goa or Karwar , as my grandparents stayed there.

Goa , is now a tourist place foe me it is home , a place my Father was born , the house that my ancestors built , it is a tranquil village with a river flowing in the backyard , and meeting the Arabian sea . Karwar to is place where the river Kali meets the gusty Arabian sea the meet is so unique , and this is the place where Rabindranath Tagore visited and was quiet impressed and he has cronicled the same in his numerous travelogues.

About 5 years back i had been to this place near Ahmendnagar called Chincholi Morachi , which means Tamarind and Peacocks , and yes that's what you get , there are huge number of  peacocks who roam without fear, what a tranquil place . Before going i had imagined, quaint cottages with the 'pihu pihu' crys of the peacocks , and my vision was absolutely true .

These travel thoughts came to my mind coz am travelling international next week and now am anticipating what the country will be .

Let's see if it turns out the same as in my mind's eye !!

Another Year gone..

Wasn't it just yesterday we wished each other Happiness for the New year ? And whooosh 2 months into the year , how has the year treated me? well am not being philosophical , but i count my blessings for every even small good things happening to me .

Though your mind tries to rationalise everything you do , this year i am making a concious effort to stay happy in all situations on Personal and Professional grounds.

My passion for painting has been renewed and there some wonderful paintings i have done , will uplaod a few someday.

Books another of my eternal love , am reading some good books , and i need to put up reviews too , lazy me , but i will get around it .

Just today have made a commitment to update at least one psot on my blog .

So here i am ..more to come stick around.
